Dover

Dover is the English endpoint for the Via Francigena and so I had to make a visit. There was only time to walk along the cliff edge to see the famous White Cliffs of Dover and then visit the castle. The Great Tower has just finished some restorations and the displays give a picture of life in the times. The projected figures in several rooms talking about people and events were cleverly done. Outside there was a demonstration of hunting with a hawk. The Secret Underground War tunnel tour was interesting and the projected images explained the circumstances leading up to Project Dynamo, the evacuation of troops from Dunkirk.
