Germany- Rhine River cruise

Today was a full day in Rüdesheim and I took advantage of the river cruise to St. Goar. It wasn’t the best photo day as the early marine layer didn’t burn off and in fact turned to rain. We passed many castles, some in ruins and some that have been restored for use as hotels or hostels. The hillsides are layered in vineyards for the world famous Rhine wines. Many little villages hug the river providing photo ops. We passed the famous Lorelei rock where legend has sailors lured to their deaths in the deepest part of the river by blond maidens singing songs while combing their long hair. The boat captain played haunting music over the speakers while we passed this section. By the time we returned to our dock the sun had come out and the invitation sent to explore more of the city.
